The San Diego State women's golf team fell from 11th to 13th place at the end of today's play at the Pioneer Electronics Bruin Classic, held at the Menifee Lakes Country Club. The Aztecs had a combined score of 306-326-320(952) for the tournament.
For the second consecutive event, sophomore Heather Rollo had SDSU's lowest score with a 71-84-79(234), tying for 36th place. Next in line for the Aztecs, tying for 51st, was Jill Janotta scoring 76-79-84(239). Aztecs' freshman Jennifer Hoene had a strong finish, tying for 55th with a score of 83-82-75(240). Joanne Clingan shot an 80-82-82(244). Junior Nikki Stangarone withdrew from the tournament during the last 18-holes.
Oklahoma State was unable to defend its title losing to eighth-ranked Pepperdine by 15 strokes.
The Aztecs will play their next tournament on their home course. The EWG/Lady Aztec Invitational will be held March 25-28 at Singing Hills Country Club in El Cajon, Calif.
