The San Diego State women's golf team placed 11th after firing a team score of 933 at the Utah Dixie Classic held at the Sunbrook Golf Course in St. George, Utah. Ninth-ranked Oklahoma State dominated the 54-hole event, hosted by Brigham Young. Oklahoma State broke the tournament record with a combined score of 887. Oklahoma State's, Maria Boden shot a four-under-par 212 and set a new individual mark for the event.
Junior Joanne Clingan shot SDSU's lowest score with a 73-74-80 (227) tying for 15th place. Senior Jill Janotta shot a 77-80-78 (235) tying for 45th. Heather Rollo and Asa Jankler each shot a 236 and placed tied for 52nd. Jennifer Hoene fired a 78-87-82 (247) and finished 84th out of 128 competitors. Competing individually for the Aztecs was Claire Riley who finished 74th with an 81-83-79 (243).
The Aztecs will compete in their last regular season tournament when they travel to Palo Alto, Calif., to take part in the Peg Barnard California Collegiate. The 36-hole event begins on Saturday, April 16 and concludes on Sunday, April 17. Each day competitors will play 18-hole rounds.
