EUGENE, Ore. - The No. 28 San Diego State men's golf team is in first place of 17 teams after Monday's first two rounds of the Oregon Duck Invitational, at Eugene Country Club.
The Aztecs shot a two-round total of 576. They scored 283 in the second round, the lowest round of the day, to move them from fifth to first after scoring a 293 in the first round.
Three Aztecs are in the top ten after two rounds of play. SDSU sophomore John Lieber leads the Aztecs in 5th place with a 142 (70-72). Sophomore Lars Johansson is in 7th with a 143 (74-69) and junior John Lepak is 9th with a 144 (74-70) Aaron Byers of Oregon leads the individual field with a 138 (66-72).
The final round will be played Tuesday and will begin with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun.
