SAN DIEGO (AP) - Billy White scored a career-high 20 points to lead San Diego State to a 76-60 win over UC San Diego on Saturday night.

White, a 6-foot-8 freshman making his first career start, hit 10 of 11 shots from the field. He also had nine rebounds to lead the Aztecs (4-0) in their home opener over their crosstown Division II opponents.

Most of White's baskets came from close range against the smaller Tritons. White had four dunks, including two spectacular ones off alley oop passes, in his first career start.

The victory allowed the Aztecs to begin the season with four straight wins in consecutive seasons for only the third time in the school's 86-year basketball history.

Kelvin Davis added 15 points and Kyle Spain had 12 for San Diego State, which led 36-27 at halftime. UC San Diego cut the lead to 39-33 nearly three minutes into the second half before the Aztecs opened up a double-digit lead.

San Diego State has won all nine games against the Tritons, although this one was closer than most in the series. The Aztecs had won the previous eight meetings by an average of 30 points.

Henry Patterson led UC San Diego (0-1) with 16 points and Jordan Lawlor added 13.
