The Big Notes

* - San Diego State defeats Brigham Young at Cox Arena for the fifth straight season, snapping the nation's seventh longest active win streak at nine games. It was the Cougars first loss since Jan. 15.
* - The Aztecs snap a 35-game losing streak when trailing with five minutes left in the game.

Team Notes
* - With the win, San Diego State clinches a league record of at least .500 for the first time in the Division I era and first since 1966, 1967 and 1968.
* - Tonight's victory is the Aztecs' fifth in a row over Brigham Young at Cox Arena. It is the longest home winning streak over BYU in the history of the series.
* - San Diego State snapped an opponents' long winning streak for the third time this season. Prior to stopping BYU's nine-game winning streak tonight, which was the seventh-longest as of Feb. 22, the Aztecs put an end to Sam Houston State's 10-gamer (tied for 8th-longest nationally at game time) and New Mexico's seven-game overall (17th-best nationally) and 10 -game home winning streak (21st nationally).
* - This is the third straight season the Aztecs and Cougars has split the season series. SDSU has won five of the last eight games played between the teams.
* - San Diego State improves to 10-2 under Steve Fisher when tied at halftime.
* - Tonight's attendance of 9,776 is a season high and the 16th-largest crowd in Cox Arena history.

Game Tidbits
* - San Diego State scored the first seven points of the game and the Cougars did not score their first point of the game until the 15:43 mark of the first half.
* - Lorrenzo Wade and Billy White combined to score San Diego State's first 15 points of the game.
* - The Aztecs missed their first eight three-point field goal attempts of the game, until Kelvin Davis' three with about 13:45 to play in the second half.
* - BYU's biggest lead was seven points at 46-39. The Cougars led 57-51, when the Aztecs used a 12-4 run to regain the lead.

Player Notes
* - Lorrenzo Wade
The junior scored a career high 28 points, surpassing his previous mark of 23 set earlier this season... He had the first five points of the game this evening... Wade reached double figures for the 23rd time this season and the 45th time in his career... He has scored 10 or more points in four consecutive games.

* - Billy White
The freshman continued his strong play with his second consecutive double-digit scoring game (15 points) and the 12th of his freshman season... White notched his 11th multiple-steal performance. ... White has blocked multiple shots in a game this season for the sixth time. ... White's four blocked shots matches his career best set previously at Colorado State.
