STRONG RUN AT HOME
Up until Cal State Northridge escaped with a 3-1 win in the second game of the year, the Aztecs had put together an impressive run against non-conference opponents at home. Prior to the uncharacteristic home loss, SDSU was unbeaten in its last six matches dating back to 2007, Mike Friesen's first year at the helm. Even with the loss, SDSU is still 5-1-1 in its last seven home dates vs. non-MWC schools. In Friesen's two-plus years as head coach, San Diego State is 6-4-1 against non-conference foes with two of the losses coming against perennial powers UCLA and Cal.
