SAN DIEGO - Dates for the Nike Water Polo camp at San Diego State have been set for June 23-26, 2011, at Aztec Aquaplex. The camp offers water polo players the opportunity to develop their skills, experience college-level position work and have the chance to compete against other skilled athletes.
Campers will receive instruction from Aztec women's water polo head coach Carin Crawford, assistant coach Allison Gregory and volunteer assistant coach Stephanie Lombardo. All facets of the game will be covered and will include tournament games, dry-land training in SDSU's strength and conditioning facility, and a specialized goalkeeper clinic.
Also expected to attend will be United States men's national team member Genai Kerr. The former Olympian will be a guest speaker and demonstrator on Friday, June 24.
The four-day co-ed camp is open to any and all participants ages 12-18. The extended day camp, which is $495, runs 9 a.m.-9 p.m., and includes lunch and dinner (does not apply to the first or last day). The overnight camp, meanwhile, includes all meals and on-campus housing, and is $595.
There will be two daily water sessions and one daily dry-land session (does not apply to the first or last day). Also included will be a trip to PETCO Park for a San Diego Padres baseball game and a Nike camp t-shirt.
