SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's soccer team continues its spring season this Friday with a pair of games at Montezuma Road. The Aztecs will face FC Heat at 6 p.m. PT, followed by Cal State San Marcos at 8 p.m. PT.

SDSU is coming off a 1-1 draw vs. the San Diego Sockers reserves on March 23. The Aztecs took a 1-0 lead when a turnover in the midfield led to Kody Duff finding Jordan Ongaro, who coverted the breakaway opportunity. The Sockers leveled the score 10 minutes later in the 59th when former Aztec Kraig Chiles assisted on an Anthony Medina goal.

In the game, there were five former Aztecs who suited up for the Sockers. Joining Chiles was Jose Altamirano, Raymundo Reza, Matt Couch and Mike Mercuriali. Aaron Susi, another former SDSU men's soccer player, was set to suit up for the Sockers, but was nursing an injury that evening and did not see the pitch. Chiles, Couch, Reza and Susi were all team captains during their time at San Diego State.

Another former Aztec will follow the sixsome's footsteps as Eric Wylnalda will bring his FC Heat squad to 55th and Montezuma on Friday.

Wynalda, a member of the 1987 San Diego State team that advanced to the national championship game, is making his second appearance on Montezuma Mesa in six months. Back on Sept. 7, he and his former teammates returned to campus as they were honored during halftime of the Aztecs' 3-2 win over Houston Baptist to recognize the 25-year anniversary of the 1987 team appearance in the NCAA title game.

The fixture vs. FC Heat takes the place of SDSU's originally scheduled game vs. Point Loma Nazarene. After Friday's doubleheader, the Aztecs will conclude their spring slate on April 13 with games vs. UC San Diego (10 a.m. PT) and San Diego (7 p.m. PT).
