SAN DIEGO - San Diego State men's tennis head coach Gene Carswell announced the addition of highly touted freshman Sander Gjols-Anderson (Klampenborg, Denmark) to the Aztecs' freshman class for the 2015-16 season.

Gjols-Anderson heads to The Mesa after attaining a No. 1 U-18 ranking, earning as high as a No. 3 senior national men's ranking, winning an ITF junior doubles title and qualifying for an ITF Futures main draw. He has also competed on the Danish national junior team since he was 13-years-old, and has been part of the Danish senior national team's indoor and outdoor championships in each of the past two years.

In addition, Gjols-Anderson won both silver and bronze medals in the U-18 singles national championships. He has also been coached by Morten Christensen, who is a former ATP tour player before serving as an assistant coach at Cal.

San Diego State added sophomore transfers Marko Goles-Babic (Zagreb, Croatia/Ohio State) and Saxon Buehning (Essex Fells, N.J./Alabama) as well as freshman Santiago Cevallos (Queretaro, Mexico) to its roster prior to its 2014 fall season, as the Aztecs look to build off their third-place finish in the Mountain West in 2013. Last season, SDSU extended its MW regular-season winning streak to 12-consecutive matches, while senior Thorsten Bertsch (Mannheim, Germany) was an all-conference selection for the third-straight season in singles play.

The Aztecs begin their 2015 dual season on Jan. 17, at home against UC Riverside.
