COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Sixteen members of the San Diego State women's swimming and diving team have been named to the 2015 All-Mountain West team based on their performances at the recently completed MWC Swimming & Diving Championships held in San Antonio, Texas, last week.
To be placed on the all-conference team, an individual must place in the top eight in the finals of their event. For the relays, the all-conference team consists of the top three finishers in each race. SDSU had all three of its relay quartets earn all-MWC honors.
A total of 15 Aztecs earned all-conference accolades in individual events while one other garnered the honor as a member of three winning relay teams.
SDSU swimmers won four individual events (13 swimmers, three divers) and the Aztecs won three of the meet's five relay races. Individual winners included Anika Apostalon (50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 100 backstroke) and Frida Berggren (200 butterfly).
San Diego State won the Mountain West championship for the third time in five years this season after finishing with an 18-0 record in dual meet competition.
