SAN DIEGO -

2015 AZTEC FOOTBALL PROMO SCHEDULE

The San Diego State athletic department has announced the promotional and giveaway schedule for the 2015 football season, highlighted by the 40th annual KGB SkyShow following the Aztecs' season opener vs. San Diego on Sept. 5.

Kickoff for the SDSU and USD game, which will be meeting for the first time since 1961 and second time overall, is 5 p.m. PT. The KGB SkyShow, the largest fireworks show in the area, annually attracts one of the largest crowds of the season, including last year when 46,293 fans showed up to watch San Diego State defeat Idaho, 35-21.

Tickets to the KGB SkyShow will be available for KGB listeners, Aztec Nation subscribers and current SDSU football season-ticket holders in an internet pre-sale (view level only) on June 15. Single-game tickets for the general public, meanwhile, to the Sept. 5 clash go on sale on July 20.

Following a home tilt with South Alabama on Sept. 19, the next giveaway day will be the Aztecs' game against Fresno State on Oct. 3 at 7:30 p.m. PT, which will also be a part of Family Weekend. As part of the Aztec Hat Giveaway, presented by Banc of California and Associated Students, SDSU will give out hats to the first 20,000 fans in attendance.

On Friday, Oct. 23, San Diego State will take on Utah State, where the newest members of the Aztec Hall of Fame class will be honored during the game. Game time is slated for 7:30 p.m. PT.

The Aztecs return to Qualcomm Stadium on Nov. 14 to welcome Wyoming over Homecoming Weekend, which will serve as the GEICO Fleet Week Classic. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. PT.

Wrapping up SDSU's home promotional schedule is Senior Day on Nov. 28 vs. Nevada. The game will be deemed Fan Appreciation Day and fans will have the opportunity to receive gift cards, promotional items and other prizes.

Aztec Village will once again take place before each game in the C1 / D1 sections of the Qualcomm Stadium parking lot. Aztec Village, which will open two and ½ hours before each game (three hours before SkyShow vs. USD), will feature family activities, a pre-game carnival and live entertainment.

Season tickets, which go on sale on June 10, start at $75 for the six Aztec home games (just $12.50 per game). With the purchase of each season ticket, fans will receive a Sport Chalet Mystery Card (value $5-$100) while supplies last and a 3'-by-5' Aztec flag.

SDSU will also have a three-game mini plan that will feature games against USD (Sept. 5 - SkyShow), Fresno State (Oct. 3 - Aztec Hat Giveaway) and Wyoming (Nov. 14 - Homecoming). The mini-plan package starts at $45 and also goes on sale on June 10.

Season tickets and the three-game mini-plan can be purchased at GoAztecs.com, by calling (619) 283-7378 or visiting the Aztec Athletic Ticket Office at Qualcomm Stadium Window E.

The Aztecs, one of 27 schools to play in a bowl game each of the last five seasons and one of just three from the "Group of 5" conferences, finished 2014 with a 7-6 record and 5-3 in MW action.
