Golfweek Conference Challenge Second Round Results

San Diego State extended its lead on Tuesday by shooting an 8-under-par 280 at the Golfweek Conference Challenge on the Fazio Course at Red Sky Golf Club in Wolcott, Colorado. The Aztecs, who had a four-shot lead entering today, sit at 9-under (567) through 36 holes and are ahead of second-place Pepperdine by 13 strokes.

Leading the way for the Aztecs was senior transfer Natalie Vivaldi, who shot a collegiate-best 5-under 67. Her effort over the second 18 holes of the tournament vaulted her into first place with a two-day total of 139, which is good for 5-under par.

Senior classmate Sirene Blair equaled her performance from Monday by shooting a 1-under 71 to put her in a tie for fourth place at 2-under (142) for the Challenge. Blair is deadlocked in fourth place with Alivia Brown of Washington State and junior teammate Mila Chaves, who fired an even-par 72 after a shooting a 70 on Monday.

Junior Haleigh Krause was five shots better on Tuesday than she was on Monday after posting a 2-under 70. With her effort, she sits in a tie for 12th place at 1-over 145 for the tournament.

Rounding out the San Diego State contingent was Georgia Lacey, who shot a 1-over 73, which was one stroke better than her first-round score. After 36 holes, the junior is in a tie for 20th place at 3-over (147).

The third and final round is set for tomorrow with the Aztecs eyeing the tournament title.
