Storylines
- Third-seeded San Diego State opens the 2016 Mountain West Women's Soccer Championship on Tuesday vs. sixth-seeded Boise State at SDSU Sports Deck. The quarterfinal match-up is set for 7 p.m. PT and will stream live on the Mountain West Network.

- Admission to the three-day tournament (Nov. 1, 3, 5) is $10 for adults and $5 for youth and students with a current ID. Group ticket rates are available in advance only by contacting the Aztec Ticket Office at (619) 283-7378 or by visiting Window E at Qualcomm Stadium. Group rates are not available at SDSU Sports Deck on game day.

- The Aztecs will look to rebound from their regular-season-ending loss to New Mexico last Friday. San Diego State, which dominated every statistic (22-12 shots, 9-5 SOG, 6-0 corner kicks), controlled the pace and enjoyed all the dangerous chances, fell at home, 2-1, in overtime.

- Victoria Barba continued her stellar play of late as she scored the tying goal on a free kick in the 46th minute vs. the Lobos. The goal was her fourth in her last four games to give her a team-leading five on the season. The senior midfielder also leads the team in points with 13.

- San Diego State will look to capture the tournament championship for the fourth time in the last five seasons. The Aztecs had won three consecutive titles before tying and falling to San José State in penalty kicks in the 2015 final. In all, SDSU has four Mountain West tournament trophies displayed on Montezuma Mesa (2009, 2012, 2013, 2014).

- The Aztecs enter this year's Championship on an eight-game tournament unbeaten streak, going 6-0-2 in the process. SDSU has not suffered a defeat in the yearly event since a 1-0 setback to Wyoming in the 2011 semifinals in Albuquerque, N.M.

- This is the sixth time the Aztecs have played host to the MW Championship (1999, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016). SDSU has advanced to the title game four of the previous five times with the lone exception coming in 2010. San Diego State won the tournament when it was held in America's Finest City in 2012 and 2014.

- SDSU is 15-10-4 all-time at the Mountain West Championship, but is a much better 8-2-2 in tournament games played in San Diego.

- Since Mike Friesen took over head-coaching duties in 2007, the Aztecs have been very good in the month of November vs. unranked teams, posting a 14-3-2 record.

- San Diego State has the benefit of hosting the Championship at SDSU Sports Deck, a place where it has a track record of winning. Since the start of the 2012 campaign, the Aztecs are 43-8-4 in all home games (regular season, conference tournament, NCAA tournament).

- SDSU will be in search of the program's 300th victory. The Aztecs, who have been competing in women's soccer at the Division I level since 1989, are 299-197-54 all-time. Head coach Mike Friesen has been at the helm for 120 of those victories and is two wins shy of matching the school record of 122 set by Chuck Clegg. Friesen is already the Mountain West all-time leader in conference victories with 61.

- After starting the season 0-4 and being outscored, 13-0, the Aztecs tightened things up and only allowed two foes the rest of the way to score multiple goals. In ending the campaign with a record of 8-3-3, SDSU outscored the opposition, 18-12.

- San Diego State is facing a Boise State team that it beat earlier this season, 2-0, at SDSU Sports Deck. In that game, the Aztecs received single goals from Dani DeRosa and Aliyah Utush, and outshot the Broncos, 16-8 (8-2 SOG).

- The victory over Boise State tilted the all-time series record toward SDSU, 4-3. The Aztecs and Broncos had split six meetings with Boise State winning the two previous match-ups. The schools have met once in the MW Championship with SDSU emerging victorious, 1-0, in 2013 in Albuquerque.

- Should the Aztecs dismiss Boise State, they will face San José State on Thursday in the semifinal round at 7 p.m. PT. SDSU is 9-2-1 all-time vs. the Spartans, but just 0-1-1 in the last two meetings, including this year's 4-0 loss in San Jose. In games played in San Diego, the Aztecs are 6-0-1 vs. SJSU and have outscored it, 17-3.
