SAN DIEGO - San Diego State women's tennis coach Peter Mattera announced today the addition of.two junior transfer student-athletes to the team's roster, Magda Aubets and Jennifer Moinard. Both Aubets and Moinard will be available to play immediately.
Aubets, a junior transfer from Virginia Commonwealth, garnered a handful of conference accolades in her first two years playing for the Rams, including an Atlantic 10 second-team nod in 2016 and an A-10 championship. The Lleida, Spain, native was also a participant in the NCAA tournament in 2016.
Moinard, originally from Saint Jean De Monts, France, is a junior transfer from Clemson. She played two seasons for the Tigers, who as a team traveled to at least the first round of the NCAA tournament in both 2016 and 2017.
"I am very pleased to announce a pair of significant additions to our team for 2017-18," head coach Peter Mattera said. "Magda Aubets and Jenny Moinard both bring two years of top-level Division I experience to our roster. They are both proven talents that will really help elevate our team."
"Additionally, both Jenny and Magda are quality individuals and I am sure they are going to represent San Diego State and this athletic department at the highest level possible."
Aubets and Moinard join seniors Jana Buth and Paola Diaz, sophomores Berta Acero and Mia Smith, and incoming freshmen Abigail Mulbarger and Nnena Nadozie to round out the eight-woman roster for the Aztecs, who look to make major strides and bounce back from a 5-18 record from the 2016-17 season.
