SAN DIEGO – San Diego State men's golf head coach Ryan Donovan announced the team's 2018-19 schedule Friday, with the Aztecs making repeat appearances in nine of 11 regular-season tournaments during the upcoming campaign, leading up to regional competition and the NCAA Championships.

SDSU will indulge in that trend throughout the fall semester, beginning with the season-opening Gopher Invitational, Sept. 9-10, in Independence, Minnesota, located just west of Minneapolis. The Aztecs are making their third consecutive trip to the Land of 10,000 Lakes, looking to improve on last year's 10th-place finish.

The Scarlet and Black will also find itself on familiar turf later in the month when it partakes in the annual William H. Tucker Intercollegiate, Sept. 28-29, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. SDSU has been a fixture in the Duke City in 11 of the last 13 years, highlighted by a team title in 2016.

As the calendar flips pages, the Aztecs will make their annual visit to the Bay Area for the Alister Mackenzie Invitational, Oct. 8-9, in Fairfax, California, just north of San Francisco in rural Marin County. Last season, four of five starters finished at or below par, helping the Scarlet and Black to a solid fourth-place standing at the historic Meadow Club.

SDSU will put the finishing touches on its fall slate nearly a month later when it ventures back north for the Saint Mary's Invitational, Nov. 5-7, in Pebble Beach, California. The Aztecs have made the exclusive Poppy Hills Golf Course a regular stop on their schedule over the last four years, highlighted by back-to-back team titles in 2015 and 2016.

After a three-month hiatus, San Diego State ushers in its spring semester with its ninth consecutive appearance at The Prestige at PGA West Feb. 18-20, in La Quinta, California. The Aztecs will be seeking an upgrade to their 13th-place standing from a year ago after the first round of the event was canceled due to high winds.

SDSU will be quickly back in action the following week for Pepperdine University's Southwestern Invitational, Feb. 25-26, in Westlake Village, California. The Aztecs also battled the elements last season at North Ranch Country Club, enduring rain, hail and chilly conditions en route to a fourth-place finish.

San Diego State will have two weeks to prepare for its sole home tournament of the 2018-19 campaign, when it welcomes another highly competitive field for the 12th annual Lamkin Classic, March 11-12, in Chula Vista, California. For the 10th time overall and ninth year in a row, San Diego Country Club will serve as host venue for the increasingly distinguished tournament.

The Aztecs continue their busy stretch with consecutive events over the next two weeks, beginning with a trip to the desert for the University of Arizona's National Invitational Tournament, March 18-19, in Tucson. SDSU last appeared at the event in 2015, but will relish the opportunity for an early look at the OMNI Tucson National Golf Club's Catalina Course, which will once again play host to the Mountain West Championship in late April.

The Scarlet and Black will travel outside of the Golden State for the second time of the spring slate when they head to the Pacific Northwest for the Duck Invitational, March 25-26, in Creswell, Oregon, situated just south of Eugene. The Aztecs last competed at the event in 2015 with a third-place finish at Eugene Country Club.

SDSU will have one last tune-up before the conference tournament by booking their ninth straight excursion to the Santa Cruz region for the historic Western Intercollegiate, April 13-14, at picturesque Pasatiempo Golf Club, where the Aztecs tied for third a year ago thanks to a trio of top-11 individual placements.

As mentioned earlier, the Mountain West Championship returns to its usual setting at OMNI Tucson National Golf Club after a one-year absence, April 26-28. SDSU will be looking for a return to conference supremacy after capturing titles in 2011, 2012 and 2015.

If all the pieces fall into place this season, the Aztecs will likely extend their program record of NCAA regional appearances to 21 consecutive years.

This season's regional championships will be conducted over three days, May 13-15, at six campus sites, including Stanford, California (Stanford); Pullman, Washington (Washington State); Rhodes, Iowa (Iowa State); Louisville, Kentucky (Louisville); Athens, Georgia (Georgia) and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (Coastal Carolina).

Should the Scarlet and Black qualify for the NCAA finals, it will compete in the national championship series for the third time in the last five years, May 24-29, at The Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
