Need to Know
• The Aztecs begin their conference season Saturday at 1:00 p.m. when they host Boise State, the reigning Mountain West champs.
•The game will be streamed on the Mountain West Network with Chris Ello (12th season) on the call. A link to the broadcast will be available on GoAztecs.com on the women's basketball schedule page.
• After starting 4-1, the Aztecs have lost five of their last six games.
• They have played just one game since December 9, a 58-63 loss to UC Santa Barbara on December 21.
• Sophia Ramos leads all Mountain West freshmen in points, assists, assist/turnover ratio and minutes played. Overall, she is fifth in the conference in points and assists per game. She is top ten in the conference in field goal percentage, three-point percentage and free throw percentage.
• Mallory Adams leads all Mountain West freshmen in rebounding. She had a career-high 17 points on 8-for-14 shooting in the Aztecs last game.
• Sophomore Najé Murray leads the Mountain West in steals and is third in three-pointers made per game.
• The Aztecs are third in the conference and 51st in the nation in three-point percentage. Sophia Ramos is shooting 45.2 percent from behind the arc, the third best rate in the conference.
• SDSU is second in the conference with 4.3 blocks per game.
• Due to injuries, the Aztecs have already had four different starting lineup combinations. They are 5-2 when their starting lineup of Sophia Ramos, Téa Adams, Najé Murray, Mallory Adams and Baylee Vanderdoes is intact. They are 0-4 without that starting lineup.
• Starting guard Téa Adams has missed the last two games with an injured ankle.
Noting the UCSB Game (58-63 vs. UCSB 12-21-18)
• The Aztecs' -12 rebounding margin was their worst of the year. They had just four rebounds in the first quarter and just one defensive rebound.
• Nine Aztecs scored in the game.
• Mallory Adams finished with 17 points on 8-for-14 shooting, setting career-highs for points and field goals.
• The Aztecs hit just two three-pointers, their second lowest total of the season.
• SDSU also had season-lows for free throws made (4) and attempted (8).
• The Aztecs had six blocks, which tied a season-high.
• UCSB only had 50 field goal attempts, the fewest the Aztecs have allowed this season.
• Coco Miller scored 29 points and had six three-pointers. Both tied season-high marks allowed by an opposing player this year.
Scouting the Broncos
• Boise State is 10-2 on the year and 1-0 in Mountain West play.
• They beat Wyoming 72-64 at home in their conference opener.
• Last year, they won the MW regular season and tournament championship.
• They had three players recognized by the Mountain West in the preseason. Riley Lupfer was named the preseason MW player of the year and was joined by Marta Hermida on the preseason all-conference team. Additionally, Jayde Christopher was named the MW preseason Freshman of the Year.
• Christopher is averaging a team-high 5.5 assists per game.
• As a team, they lead the MW in three-pointers made per game (9.2) and are second in three-point percentage (37.2%).
• They are first in the conference in assists per game (16.5) and are second in assist to turnover ratio (1.13).
• They are averaging 76.2 points per game while shooting 44.3 percent from the field.
• Head Coach Gordy Presnell (14th season) has over 600 career wins and over 200 at Boise State.
All-Time Series vs. the Broncos
• San Diego State is 8-6 all-time vs. Boise State.
• The Aztecs are 5-2 when playing BSU at home, but the Broncos have won the last two games inside Viejas.
• The Broncos swept the Aztecs last season, winning both games by double digits.
• BSU has won five of the last six meetings.
• The first meeting was December 20, 2005, a 54-51 Aztec win at home. This was the only time the two programs met prior to being Mountain West foes.
