SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State lacrosse team will hold its annual Winter Defrost Clinic on Saturday, Jan. 26, from 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m. at Aztec Lacrosse Field.
The clinic is open to all girls in grades 7-12 who are preparing for high school, middle school and club team tryouts. This intensive session will focus on stick work, shooting and other lacrosse fundamentals. Registration for the clinic is $60 and can be completed by clicking on the link at the top of this page.
San Diego State commences its eighth season of competition on Saturday, Feb. 2, when it plays host to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in an exhibition game, beginning at 10 a.m. Two weeks later, the Aztecs open their regular-season schedule with a pair of neutral-site encounters against Oregon (Feb. 15) and California (Feb. 17) in Las Vegas, Nev.
SDSU will conduct its regular-season home opener on Friday, Feb. 22 vs. USC, starting at 1 p.m.
In addition to six other home games, SDSU's 2019 slate features road contests at NCAA tournament qualifier Stanford, as well as defending national champion James Madison.
The Aztecs return 28 experienced veterans, including five all-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation honorees from a year ago in Jill Haight, Kirstie Greenlaw, Marissa MacRae, Harlowe Steele and Katy Sharretts. In addition, the Scarlet and Black boasts a talented class of 10 newcomers, featuring five high school All-Americans, four all-CIF/all-state performers, eight all-conference selections, two all-county picks and five Player of the Year/Most Valuable Player award recipients.
San Diego State is coming off its most successful season in program history in 2018, when it captured its first-ever MPSF championship. The Aztecs set a program record with 11 victories along with way, including a dramatic overtime win over UC Davis in the conference title game.
