SAN DIEGO -- San Diego State will send three football players to the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis from Feb. 26-March 4, the NFL announced today. Offensive linemen Ryan Pope and Tyler Roemer, and tight end Kahale Warring will each attend the camp, which will be scouted by top executives, coaching staffs, player personnel departments and medical personnel from all 32 NFL teams.
The three combine invitees are tied for the most in the Mountain West (also Fresno State), the most among non-Power 5 schools (also Florida Atlantic, Fresno State, Houston and Memphis) and the 32nd most in the nation.
Pope and Roemer are tentatively set to test out on Friday, March 1, while Warring is scheduled for Saturday, March 2.
Pope, who started in the East-West Shrine Bowl last month, was the only Aztec to start all 13 games on a battered offensive line in 2018. Pope started the first 10 at right tackle, before moving to left tackle the final three games of the campaign, and was a second-team all-Mountain West performer.
Roemer started all 23 games he appeared in over his career at left tackle, earning 2017 USA Today Freshman All-America honors, while being named a 2017 second-team all-league performer and the team's offensive lineman of the year in 2017.
Warring, meanwhile, earned honorable-mention all-MW accolades a year ago, catching a team-high 31 passes for 372 yards (120 avg.) and a team-high-tying three touchdown receptions.
The Aztecs finished 2018 with a 7-6 record, including wins over No. 23/25 Arizona State and rv/No. 24 Boise State. SDSU is one of 14 teams to make a bowl game in nine consecutive seasons. San Diego State returns its leading passer (Ryan Agnew), rusher (Juwan Washington) and tackler (Kyahva Tezino) from a year ago.
San Diego State is accepting new account deposits on 2019 season tickets through the Aztec Ticket Office, while current season-ticket holders can also renew their tickets for the 2019 campaign.
