SAN DIEGO – San Diego State women's tennis completes its seven-match homestand throughout the month of March when it hosts Fresno State on Friday, March 29. First serve between the Aztecs and Bulldogs is set for 2 p.m. at the Aztec Tennis Center.
The Bulldogs, currently 7-7, travel to America's Finest City for their first conference match of the season this Friday. Fresno State enters this week's dual match having won four of their last six, falling twice in that stretch to ranked opponents (No. 44 Utah, No. 36 Washington State).
A pair of Bulldogs recently visited the Mesa in November when Ella Husrefovic and Jane Ellis participated in SDSU's Fall Classic II. The duo competed both together in doubles and individually in singles, but did not place in the championship bracket. The last meeting between the two teams came in April 2018, when the Aztecs fell to the 'Dogs, 4-3, in Fresno.
San Diego State remains at 9-7 entering Friday, with no marks in conference play as last Thursday's dual against Colorado State was cancelled mid-match due to heavy rain. The Aztecs tallied their third win in their last four contests when they defeated Yale last Tuesday. Sophomore Abbie Mulbarger clinched the victory for the Aztecs with her fifth-seeded win over Yale's Amy Yang, extending her win streak to a team-best four straight.
Admission is free at all SDSU women's tennis matches at the Aztec Tennis Center. Results from Friday's matches will be available on GoAztecs.com once play concludes.
