SAN DIEGO -- San Diego State softball head coach Kathy Van Wyk has announced the addition of a pair of transfers to the program. The duo - former Oregon State catcher Sara Lillie and former Oklahoma outfielder Alexa Schultz - are eligible immediately and each have two years to play with the Aztecs.

A catcher, Lillie was off to a good start in 2019 for the Beavers, going 2-for-6 (.333) with a start in five appearances before an injury sidelined her for the rest of the season. She was named Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention.

For her career (2018-19), Lillie played in 30 games at OSU, starting 11 times. Oregon State made the NCAA tournament each of the two seasons Lillie played with the team. Lillie is perfect in the field for her career in 53 chances and is 9-for-45 at the plate with six RBIs.

Prior to joining the Beavers, Lillie prepped at Vista Murrietta High School where she was at three-time first-team all-league selection (2015-17) and first-team all-CIF as a senior in 2017.

Schultz, meanwhile, joins SDSU after appearing in 60 games over her two seasons with the Sooners, starting once. While at OU, which has won four NCAA titles, Schultz was 2-for-22 with seven runs, a home run, three RBIs, four walks, two times hit by pitch, a stolen base and a .286 on-base percentage.

Schultz played in 19 games in 2019 with two runs, two RBIs and a .300 on-base mark en route to being named first-team Academic All-Big 12. In 2018, Schultz appeared in 41 games with one start, recording a solo home run with three walks and a .278 on-base percentage.

Schultz played her high school ball at Los Alamitos High School where she helped lead the Griffins to a CIF-Southern Section title in 2017 and a national titled as determined by MaxPreps. Schultz was a first-team all-Sunset League selection in 2016 and a second-team pick in 2015 as the LAHS won league championships each year.

Lillie and Schultz join a SDSU program that recently added former Oregon standout pitcher Maggie Balint and has won a Mountain West-record seven titles. San Diego State returns all four of its all-Mountain West picks from a year ago, including three-time first-team all-league pick Shelby Thompson, and second-team selections Taylor Adams, Alicia Garcia and Marissa Moreno.
