COLFAX, Wash. – The Aztec cross country team wrapped up their 2019 season at the NCAA DI West Regional at the Colfax (Wash.) Golf Club Friday.

The Aztecs placed 31st (out of 35) and were led by Carlene Masar who finished in 21:44.5 (111th), a new career-best 6k time.

Marissa D'Atri was the second Aztec finisher, cross the line in 21:59.6 (137th place).

The rest of the SDSU top five consisted of Paige Comiso (180th, 22:35.9), Renee Phillips (222nd, 23:32.4) and Lauren Harper (227th, 23:41.2). Naomi Smitham also competed, finishing in 24:23.2 (239th).

Stanford (39 points) won the team championship and was followed by Washington (49), Boise State (86), Oregon (145) and Arizona (188). The Cardinal had three runners finish in the top five and saw Ella Donaghu capture the individual title.

THE NOTE
Sophomore Carlene Masar finished with a new career-best time in the 6k (21:44.5). It was the fastest 6k run by an Aztec this season.
