SAN DIEGO – San Diego State's women tennis team begins Spring 2020 competition this weekend when they welcome UC Riverside and UC San Diego to Aztec Tennis Center on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
The Aztecs are no stranger to their upcoming competitiors, meeting both teams last year in January at Aztec Tennis Center. SDSU topped both programs 7-0 in back-to-back matches to earn their second and third wins of the 2019 season. The Scarlet and Black ended their Fall 2019 season on a high note, hosting the SDSU Fall Classic II Nov. 8-10, where they collected five singles wins on the final day of competition. Junior Nnena Nadozie finished the fall season with recognition from the Oracle ITA Division I Women's Singles Rankings, as she earned the No. 113 ranking and became the first Aztec to receive the nod since the 2015-16 season.
SDSU first hosts the Highlanders on Saturday, Jan. 25, followed by a meeting with the Tritons Sunday, Jan. 26. Both matches are set to begin at noon at Aztec Tennis Center. Admission is free to the public and results will be posted on GoAztecs.com at the conclusion of the match.
