SAN DIEGO – Head coach Stacie Terry-Hutson has announced the signing of Ivvana Murillo, a 6'1" forward who played the last two seasons at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. A native of Medellín, Colombia, Murillo averaged 13.1 points and 9.4 rebounds last season.

"Ivvana is a tremendous athlete and rebounder who bolsters our front court depth," Terry-Hutson said. "She can attack off the bounce, run to the rim for lay-ups and has the skill set to start the fast break after a rebound."

Ivvana Murillo (ee-VON-uh moo-REE-oh) was named to the NJCAA Division I All-Region first team after the season. She finished second in her region in rebounding and fourth in field goal percentage.
"I chose San Diego State because of the team's skill and school's academics," Murillo said. "I wanted to be a part of a team where I will grow physically and mentally. I immediately became interested in becoming an Aztec after seeing photos and videos of the campus and athletic facilities, but what confirmed everything at the end was the connection I made with the team after talking to some of the girls on the phone. I am really excited to be a part of this team and join their family."

Murillo shot 50 percent from the field last season and scored in double-digits in 20 of NEO's 29 games. She had 11 games with double-digit rebounds and nine double-doubles.

As a freshman, she averaged 5.4 points and 4.2 rebounds and shot 50 percent from the field and had six games scoring 10 or more points.

Murillo will be one of six newcomers for the Aztecs next season, joining Minnesota transfer Mercedes Staples and incoming freshmen Asia Avinger, Kamaria Gipson, Flo Vinerte and Kimberly Villalobos.

SDSU will have five players with international ties on their 2020-21 roster: Murillo (Colombia), Villalobos (El Salvador), Vinerte (Latvia), senior Naomi Ekwedike (Nigeria) and sophomore Talia Sireni (Canada).
