SAN DIEGO -- It was another big week for former Aztecs across professional sports.
Starting safety Damontae Kazee (2013-16) was off to a hot start for Atlanta on Monday night, accumulating five tackles (three solo) in the first quarter and a half before exiting the game with an Achilles injury. He played for 21 snaps, all on defense in the loss to Green Bay. Atlanta hosts Carolina next Sunday. Daniel Brunskill (2013-16) drew the start at right guard for San Francisco, playing all 73 snaps on offense on Sunday night in a loss to Philadelphia. The 49ers will take on Miami in Week 5. Linebacker Calvin Munson (2013-16) (seven snaps) and long snapper Aaron Brewer (2008-11) (eight snaps) appeared on special teams for Miami and Arizona, respectively. In Week 5, Brewer and the Cardinals will travel to the Meadowlands to play the Jets. Cornerback Luq Barcoo (2018-19) and center Keith Ismael (2017-19) did not see the field for Jacksonville and Washington in Week 4. The Jaguars will play Houston, while Washington will take on the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. Defensive end Alex Barrett (2013-16) and offensive tackle Ryan Pope (2016-18) are on the practice squads for San Francisco and Green Bay. Running back Rashaad Penny (2014-17) is on PUP for Seattle, while fullback Nick Bawden (2014-17) and tight end Kahale Warring (2016-18) are on injured reserve for Detroit and Houston.
In the Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, Miss., Scott Piercy (1999-01) tied for 57th at 2-under par, while J.J. Spaun (2009-12) missed the cut. Piercy will compete in the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open this weekend in Las Vegas.
