SAN DIEGO – On the final day of the SDSU Fall Tennis Classic I, junior Cécile Morin and Alexandria Von Tersch Pohrer posted singles victories for the host school.
The SDSU Fall Classic, which included women's tennis student-athletes from six institutions (CSUN, Grand Canyon, Long Beach State, San José State, UTEP and San Diego State), features five singles flights and two doubles flights. The three-day event was held at the Aztec Tennis Center.
Morin, who suffered a tough three-set defeat on Saturday, bounced back with a 6-3, 6-3 decision over Kathleen Percegona of UTEP in the Black Singles bracket.
Meanwhile, Von Tersch Pohrer was a straight-set winner in the Silver Singles bracket, disposing of UTEP's Thassane Abrahim, 7-6 (1), 6-1.
In the Scarlet Singles bracket, senior Alicia Melosch lost a first-set tiebreaker en route to a 7-6 (5), 7-5 loss to Grand Canyon's Natasha Puehse.
In the Black Doubles bracket, Morin and Von Tersch Pohrer dropped a 6-4 decision to Jenna Dorian and Ekatarina Repina of CSUN.
