SAN DIEGO – The Aztecs (9-11, 3-6) are back on the road this week, playing at Utah State (7-13, 2-8) Wednesday evening at 5 p.m. PT (6 p.m. MT) and then at Boise State (7-13, 3-6) Saturday at 11 a.m. PT (12 p.m. MT). The Aztecs beat both teams at home by double-digits three weeks ago.
 
Aztec Tidbits
• In SDSU's 66-45 win over Utah State on Jan. 13, the Aztecs forced a season-high 23 turnovers. Three players finished in double figures and Mallory Adams had a double-double (14 points and 13 rebounds).
• The Aztecs are on a three-game losing streak after falling to Air Force (59-46) and New Mexico (67-58) at home last week.
• The Aztecs are second in the MW in opponent field goal percentage (.377) and opponent three-point percentage (.297) and third in rebounds per game (39.3).
• In conference games, SDSU is allowing just 62.8 points per game, third in the Mountain West.
• Sophia Ramos (San Antonio, Texas) is one of four active four-year players with career totals of at least 1,300 points, 500 rebounds, 350 assists and 100 steals (Northwestern's Veronica Burton, Ohio's Erica Johnson & Florida's Kiara Smith). She is currently in the top 10 in program history in seven statistical categories, including assists (6th), three-point percentage (6th), made threes (6th), made free throws (7th) and points (9th).
• Ramos is second in the conference in steals per game (2.1) and is in the top 100 nationally in six statistical categories.
• Mallory Adams (Frisco, Texas) leads SDSU in scoring (14.3) and rebounding (8.3) in conference games. She is making 3.0 three-pointers per game in MW play, which is tied for the conference lead.
• Adams is five rebounds away from 500 and five points away from 800 in her career.
• Ramos (.400) and Adams (.381) are third and fourth respectively in the conference in three-point percentage.
• Asia Avinger (Cerritos, Calif.) leads all Mountain West freshmen in scoring and assists. On Jan. 15, she scored 30 points on 10-for-12 shooting against Boise St. to become the first Aztec freshman to score 30 or more points in the MW era.
Kim Villalobos (Van Nuys, Calif.) is averaging 7.2 rebounds in conference play and her 3.1 offensive rebounds per game is third in the conference.
• SDSU has three active players in the top 10 all-time in career three-point percentage. Mercedes Staples (Centerville, Utah) is fourth at 37.6 percent (53-141), Sophia Ramos is sixth (35.8%, 140-391) and Isabela Hernandez is seventh (35.4%, 56-158).
 
Opponent Notebook (Utah State)
• The Aggies are 7-13 and 2-8 in conference play.
• They have won two of their last three games, beating Wyoming 76-66 and San Jose State 63-61.
• They are 5-4 at home.
• They have made the second most free throws in the conference.
• They average 17.1 turnovers per game, the most in the Mountain West.
• They allow 76.2 points per game, the most in the conference.
• They are 10th in field goal percentage (.374) and field goal percentage defense (.428).
• Kaylin Randhawa leads the Aggies with 13.3 points per game.
Adryana Quezada averages a team-high 8.0 rebounds per game and 12.7 points per game
• Head coach Kayla Ard is in her second season at Utah State. She came from Denver where she was their associate head coach for three years.
