Aztec Softball to Play Four Games This Weekend at Torero Classic
The San Diego State softball team wraps up its regular-season tournament schedule this weekend at the Torero Classic on the campus of San Diego.

The Aztecs (13-9) are scheduled to play Weber State on Thursday (5 p.m. PT) and Friday (noon PT), along with CSUN at 2 p.m. PT Saturday and host USD at 12:30 p.m. PT Sunday.

SDSU is coming off a 2-4 weekend at the San Diego Classic in its final home tournament of the season, highlighted by a 6-2 win over California. It was the second straight victory against a Pac-12 school for San Diego State after beating then No. 5/5 Washington on Feb. 25. The Aztecs also beat Stony Brook, 8-0, in six innings.

Despite the 2-4 week, SDSU is still receiving four votes in the latest ESPN.com/USA Softball poll, which are the 31st most in the poll. The "No. 31" ranking is San Diego State's highest this season.

The Aztecs have been impressive in all three phases of the game, owning a .305 average (50th in NCAA of 299 teams), 2.59 ERA (67th) and .980 fielding percentage (14th).

Mac Barbara leads SDSU in multiple categories, including average (.394), hits (28),RBIs (23), doubles (5, tied), home runs (10), total bases (63), slugging percentage (.887) and on-base percentage (.463). Barbara, who is the fastest player in program history to 10 home runs in a season (21 games), is tied for first in the NCAA in total bases (63) and tied for second in home runs (10).

Bella Espinoza (.359, 14 R, 6 SB) and Jillian Celis (.356, 16 RBI, 12 R, 4 2B, 4 3B, 5 SB) are also hitting over .350 for San Diego State.

Maggie Balint (6-3, 2.05 ERA, .190 opp. avg.) ranks fifth in the country in strikeouts (110), eighth in strikeouts per seven innings (11.8) and tied for 22nd in innings pitched (65.0), and has been named the MW Pitcher of the Week in three of four chances this season. Freshman Dee Dee Hernandez (2-3, 1.84 ERA, 3 SV) also has impressed in her first season.es This Weekend at Torero Classic
