SAN DIEGO – After a 4-1 victory to wrap up the home portion of its 2021-22 schedule, San Diego State men's tennis heads out on the road for its final two Mountain West duals with stops at Boise State on Thursday and then in Reno to take on Nevada on Saturday.

• San Diego State is 6-10 overall and 2-2 in Mountain West Conference play entering this week's action.
• The Aztecs are in fourth place in the conference standings and will play at No. 6 Boise State on Thursday and No. 1 Nevada on Saturday.
• Last weekend, in its 2022 home finale, SDSU defeated New Mexico 4-1 at the Aztec Tennis Center to snap a three-match skid. SDSU won the doubles point and then senior Joe Tyler, in his final appearance at home, earned the singles point which secured the dual for San Diego State.
• Joe Tyler has a 9-4 record (6-4 at No. 1 and 3-0 at No. 2) in dual matches and is 15-8 overall, including 2-1 in Mountain West matches. He is 8-7 in doubles in dual matches, all at No. 1 (6-3 w/ Victor Castro & 2-4 w/ Alexander Mandma) and in his most recent outing, he teamed up with Castro for a 6-2 vs. New Mexico. In his last singles outing, he went to three sets to defeat UNM's Arda Azkara 6-3, 1-6, 6-3.
• Victor Castro has four appearances at No. 2 singles and is 1-3 at the position. He is 4-4 at No. 3 and 0-1 at No. 4 with an overall dual match record of 5-8. In dual match doubles, he is 6-3 with Joe Tyler at No. 1 and 3-3 at No. 2 with Johannes Seeman. In his last singles outing he went to three sets to defeat New Mexico's Aram Noroozian 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 and teamed up with Joe Tyler for a doubles point (6-2) against the Lobos.
• Johannes Seeman has played at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 singles, and is 1-2, 1-4, and 3-1, respectively, at those positions. In doubles he has played with four partners. At No. 2, he is 3-3 with Victor Castro, 1-3 with Alexander Mandma, and 1-0 with Roni Rikkonen, and he is 0-1 with Jules Auffray at No. 3. In his last singles outing, he was in the third set against UNM's Rafael Abdulsalam and trailing 2-5 at the juncture where the Aztecs secured the winning point.
• Alexander Mandma is 4-9 in dual match singles with a 0-2 mark at No. 3 and 4-7 at No. 4. His 11 appearances at No. 4 is a team high at that positions and overall is one of four Aztecs to reach double-digit wins (10). In dual match doubles, he is 2-4 at No. 1 with Joe Tyler, 1-3 at No. 2 with Johannes Seeman and 2-1 at No. 3 with Judson Blair. In his last doubles outing, he and Blair defeated a New Mexico pair at No. 3, 6-1, and his most recent singles match, trailing 0-2 in the third, was not finished against New Mexico's Jan Pucalka.
• Judson Blair has a dual match record of 8-7 which includes going 2-0 at No. 5 and 6-7 at No. 6. He has played 10 matches with two partners at No 3. doubles. He and Jules Auffray have a 2-5 record, and with Alexander Mandma he has a 2-1 mark. In his last singles match, he defeated New Mexico's Alex Maggs, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 5.
• Jules Auffray has competed 11 times in singles and compiled a 3-8 dual record. He is 1-0 at No. 4 and 2-8 at No. 5. He has competed eight times at No. 3 doubles and has a 2-5 record with Judson Blair and 0-1 with Johannes Seeman. In his last singles outing, he fell 6-1, 6-0 against Utah State.
• Roni Rikkonen is 2-3 in dual match singles at both No. 5 (1-1) and No. 6 (1-2). He teamed up with Johannes Seeman against New Mexico and led 5-2 when the doubles point was secured by the Aztecs.
• In his 19th year leading the San Diego State program, head coach Gene Carswell has amassed 227 career victories and has been named the Mountain West Conference Coach of the Year four times (2005, '06, '07 & '13).
Boise State (13-9, 2-3 Mountain West)
• This will be the 22nd meeting between these two programs, with the Aztecs trailing 10-11 in the all-time series.
• Since Boise State joined the Mountain West conference, prior to the start of the 2012 season, the teams have split 10 meetings (5-5), but in the matches in Boise, the Aztecs are 1-5.
• The Broncos have an 8-2 record at home this year and due to the possibility of inclement weather on Thursday, the matches, originally scheduled for the Appleton Outdoor Tennis Center, might be played indoors at the Boas Indoor Tennis Center.
• Aztec head coach Gene Carswell, who took control of the program in the 2004 season, has a 6-8 record against Boise State.
Nevada (15-7, 3-1 Mountain West)
• This will be the 15 meeting between these two programs, with the Aztecs holding an 11-3 advantage in the all-time series and since the Wolf Pack joined the league, SDSU has not lost in Reno (3-0).
• The Aztecs have won four of the last five meetings regardless of location. In three of its last four victories over Nevada, SDSU has bageled the Wolf Pack (4-0).
• Nevada is 2-1 at home this year.
• Aztec head coach Gene Carswell has a 7-3 record against Nevada.
