ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- The San Diego State men's golf team claimed the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate by eight strokes Saturday in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Leading host New Mexico by five strokes heading into today's final round, the Aztecs shot a 1-over 289 to finish at 16-under 848.
It was the fifth tournament win for SDSU since the spring 2021 season (San Diego State did not compete in the 2020 fall campaign because of COVID). The Aztecs started four underclassmen in the five-man lineup.

Only Denver's Carson Griggs (-11), UNLV's Caden Fioroni (-10), New Mexico State's Garrison Smith (-8) and New Mexico's Albert Boneta (-7) bettered Guezzale (-6) for the tournament.
Freshman Tyler Kowack (Del Mar, Calif./Torrey Pines HS), meanwhile, tied for seventh at 5-under 211 following an even-par 72 today. Competing in the starting five for the first time of his career, Kowack sank six birdies in today's final round, but was saddled with three double bogeys.
