SAN DIEGO – San Diego State Women's tennis wrapped up their weekend of competition at the ITA Southwest Regional Championships on Sunday and four Aztecs were in action.

Andjela Skrobonja competed in the singles semifinals for the Aztecs in the afternoon against Savannah Broadus of Pepperdine. Although coming out of the gates swinging, Skrobonja was unable to capitalize on 4-1 leads in both sets and ultimately fell 6-4, 6-4. The junior came close to upsetting a top 50 player in the nation and reaching the finals but came up just short. Despite falling in the semifinals, Skrobonja knocked off multiple top-notch competitors from schools like Arizona State, Cal State Fullerton, UCLA and USD over the course of the weekend.

Earlier in the day, Dariya Detkovskaya, Alicia Melosch, and Andreea Velcea all competed in consolation matches to conclude their runs in the ITA Southwest Regional Championships. Detkovskaya continued her momentum into Sunday, defeating UCLA's Alexandra Vagramov 6-3, 2-6 (10-5). The Aztec finished the weekend by winning all three of her consolation matches. Elsewhere, Melosch faced off against Vanessa Ong of UCLA, mounting an impressive comeback in the second set yet ultimately falling just short by a score of 6-2, 2-6 (10-4). Velcea wrapped up the consolation matches for the Aztecs, playing against Nikola Homolkova of Hawai'i and losing 6-4, 6-3.
