SAN DIEGO – San Diego State women's soccer had two student-athletes named to the College Sports Communications Academic All-District Team. Junior forward Emma Gaines-Ramos and sophomore forward Emily Lowe were honored for abilities on the field and in the classroom.
Gaines-Ramos (San Diego, Calif.) has had an extremely successful year both on the field and in the classroom. Gaines-Ramos earned first-team All-MW honors for the second time as a junior, scored a career-high six goals and also added seven assists during the 2022 season. She also boasts a 3.51 Cumulative GPA as a business administration major.
Lowe (San Clemente, Calif.) boasts a 3.67 cumulative GPA as a business administration major. She also appeared in 13 of the Aztecs 21 matches throughout the 2022 season. The sophomore also scored her first career goal in the Aztecs 3-0 win over Nevada on October 13th.
It is the first time being named to the Academic All-District Team for both Aztecs. To be eligible for the All-Academic team, student-athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or important reserve. All-district selections are now eligible for the Academic All-American team.
