FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – San Diego State divers completed the second day of action at the Lumberjack Invitational on Saturday, as Ximena Lechuga Gonzalez finished second in the 1-meter springboard to lead the Aztec contingent at NAU Aquatic & Tennis Center.
SDSU advanced all five event competitors to the final round where Lechuga Gonzalez set a season high with 306.75 points, surpassing the NCAA Zone qualifying score (265 pts) en route to a runner-up placement with 580.65 points overall.
In addition, Summer Westmoreland landed in the 10th position, compiling 523.25 points for the day, including an NCAA Zone qualifying total of 266.55 points in the finals.
Meanwhile, Emma Duggan followed closely in the 12th spot with an aggregate 512.50 points, capped by an NCAA Zone qualifying score of 265.0 points in the final round, which also marked a season best.
Elsewhere, Olivia Zamudio amassed a two-round total of 465.40 points to finish 16th, including a season-high total of 245.25 points in the preliminaries.
Rounding out the Aztec delegation on Saturday was Taylor Konopacke, who was slotted 18th in the final standings with a composite 422.05 points after scoring 217.65 points in the preliminary round.
San Diego State wraps up its excursion to the Lumberjack Diving Invitational on Sunday when it competes in the platform event with a single round of dives, starting at 9 a.m. MT/8 a.m. PT.
In addition, a team competition featuring three divers from the five participating schools (SDSU, NAU, Idaho, New Mexico, New Mexico State) is slated to begin 30 minutes after completion of the platform. Fans can access results on DiveMeets.com.
