SAN DIEGO – The No. 24 San Diego State water polo team, coming off a 4-1 record in last weekend's 2023 Aztec Invitational, head back out on the road this weekend for a pair of games at Hawai'i. The Aztecs will face the No. 5 Rainbow Wahine on Saturday before taking on the No. 2 Southern California Trojans on Sunday.

About the Aztecs
• San Diego State's record stands at 7-12, after going 4-1 in last weekend's Aztec Invitational.
• Senior Amanda Legaspi scored 11 goals and drew 11 exclusions, including six against No. 13 Princeton, and in addition had seven steals.
• The Aztecs are paced offensively by Amanda Legaspi who leads the team in goals (29) and points (46). In addition, she tops SDSU with 33 ejections drawn and among players who have attempted at least two shots per game, she leads the team with a .475 shooting percentage.
• Freshman Claudia Valdes tops the team in shots (62) and steals (29).
• Sophomore Rose Kanemy is the team's assists leader.
Sophomore Sophia Righetti has 13 field blocks more than any other Aztec.
• Freshmen Tiaare Ahovelo and Mandy Lagerlof have played nearly all the minutes in goal.  Lagerlof is 5-8 in 335:52 of game action. Her GAA is 12.29 with a team high 105 saves a .449 save percentage and she has added seven steals and two assists.
Ahovelo has played 267:08 with a 2-4 record and a goals against average of 11:98 and a .432 save percentage. She has stopped 76 shots and tops the goalies with five assists and has five steals. 
 
Inside the Matchup – No. 5 Hawai'i
• This is the 38th meeting between these programs. The Rainbow Wahine leads the all-time series 27-10, including an 11-1 mark in its home pool.
• Hawai'i has won six straight in the series and has not allowed the Aztecs to come out on top since March 29, 2013, when SDSU handed the then No. 8-ranked Rainbow Wahine a 10-7 loss in Honolulu. It's only win in the series at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex.
• UH entered the week with a 13-2 mark coming off a 2-0 record last weekend with Big West Conference wins at UC Santa Barbara (12-8) and at CSUN (12-3).
 
Inside the Matchup – No. 2 Southern California
• This is the 50th meeting between these programs. The Trojans lead the all-time series 40-9, and in a neutral pool have a 22-4 against the Aztecs.
• San Diego State earned victories in nine of the first 10 matchups but have been stymied by the Trojans since a 7-6 win in a neutral pool at Stanford on April 25, 1998, a span of 39 games.
• USC entered the week with a 17-1 record and will play Hawai'i on Friday before facing the Aztecs on Sunday.
