BOULDER, Colo. – The Aztec lacrosse team (5-9) fell to Colorado (6-5) 17-4 Friday afternoon. The Buffaloes got off to an early scoring run, leading the Aztecs 9-2 at halftime. The Aztecs were unable to catch up after consistent offensive production from the Buffaloes, falling to Colorado 17-4.
Deanna Balsama led the Aztecs in scoring after netting two goals, while Sydney Wolfington and Sara Toner contributed one each.
Colorado outshot SDSU 42-12 and 27-10 in shots on goal. They also had a 20-5 advantage over the Aztecs in draw controls.
Maggie Marion led the team with three caused turnovers.
Goalkeeper Sam Horan had 10 saves on the day.
