SAN DIEGO -- San Diego State Track and Field earned four CSC Academic All-District honors after Alexus Alexander, Corey Friedenbach, Jada Moore, and Rhea Hoyte were named to the team, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced.
The Academic All-District teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada and recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-American Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected next month.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at her current institution.
Sprinter Alexus Alexander, a Mountain West scholar athlete in 2022 and Mountain West All-Academic Team member from 2020-2022, majored in psychology while competing for the Aztecs.
Senior pole vaulter Corey Friedenbach competed throughout the season for the Scarlet and Black. Majoring in Social Science, Friedenbach earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team and Mountain West scholar-athlete honors in 2022 in addition to being on the Mountain West All-Academic Team in both 2021 and 2022.
Sprints and hurdles competitor, Rhea Hoyte, brought home the Mountain West title in the 400m hurdles with a mark of 58.80. Hoyte, majoring in business, earned All-Mountain West honors for her performance at the conference championship in addition to USTFCCCA All-Academic Team distinction in 2022 and MW honors as a scholar-athlete in 2022 and all-academic team member from 2021-2022.
Senior sprinter Jada Moore earned CSC honors with a 3.52 GPA, majoring in Kinesiology. Moore brought home the Mountain West crown in the 100m and 4x100 relay, earning All-Conference honors and qualifying to the NCAA West Preliminaries.
