AUSTIN, Texas – The Aztecs wrapped up their 2023 season at the NCAA Outdoor Championships Saturday evening, at Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas. Jenna Fee Feyerabend placed 11th overall in the heptathlon, while Simone Johnson finished 11th in the triple jump.
Fee Feyerabend posted a solid opening mark to the second day of competition in the long jump. The sophomore finished 12th overall, earning 822 points in the event with a leap of 19-04.75.
As for the javelin throw, Fee Feyerabend added 660 points to her total score with a throw of 130-0 (39.62m), earning a 13th place finish in the event.
In the final event of the day for Fee Feyerabend, the 800m, Fee Feyerabend placed ninth overall with a mark of 2:20.75.
Fee Feyerabend earned an 11th overall finish in the heptathlon with 5742 total points.
To round out the weekend of competition for the Aztecs, Junior Simone Johnson represented the Scarlet and Black in the triple jump. Johnson finished her strong junior campaign by jumping 44-00.50 to finish second in her flight and 11th overall.
Both Fee Feyerabend and Johnson posted impressive 2023 campaigns overall as both won medals after top three finishes at the 2023 Mountain West Conference Championships in their respective events.
