SAN DIEGO – The Aztec women's basketball team (1-2) rallied to beat UC Davis 77-68 Monday evening. After trailing by eight midway through the fourth quarter, the Aztecs finished the game on a 22-5 run to secure their first win of the 2023-24 season.

"We just need to get stops on defense," Jada Lewis, who led all scorers with 25 points, said after the game. "Once we cleaned it up on the defensive end, we made shots when we needed to and executed down the stretch."

Playing in her 100th career game, Lewis set a new career-high with 25 points and played all 40 minutes. It was Lewis' second straight 20-point game.

Adryana Quezada finished with 13 points and eight rebounds and Sarah Barcello had another double-digit scoring outing with 10 points.

The Aztecs went up by as much as eight points in the second quarter, but saw that lead disappear after shooting just 3-for-16 in the third quarter. The Aggies led by as much as eight points with 6:13 left, but then SDSU went on a 15-2 run and got big buckets from both Lewis and Quezada.

The Aggies had four players in double-digits, led by Evannne Turner's 16 points and nine rebounds.

The Aztecs shot 53% from three (8-15) and 89 percent from the line (23-26).

The Aztecs' final nine-point lead was their largest of the night.

THE NOTE
After scoring in double-digits just once last year, Sarah Barcello has scored 10 or more points in all three games for SDSU this season.
