IRVINE, Calif. – The San Diego State men’s soccer team (3-4-2) lost at UC Irvine (3-4-1) 2-0 Saturday evening. The Anteaters scored a goal in each half and held the Aztecs to two shots on goal.
UC Irvine scored their first goal in the 23rd minute when Roman Warren converted an assist from Franceso Montanile and Mario Anaya.
The Anteaters went up 2-0 in the 54th minute with a Samue Atiye goal. This was also set up by Motanile.
The Aztecs outcornered the Anteaters 9-3 but couldn’t convert any of those opportunities.
SDSU’s Robbie Matei had a match-high four shots.
