SAN DIEGO -- San Diego State Athletics unveiled plans to build a state-of-the-art performance center at The Farms Golf Club in nearby Rancho Santa Fe thanks to an anonymous $1.5 million pledge. Two golf simulators will also be housed on the SDSU campus, allowing the Aztec men’s and women’s golf teams the resources necessary to continue to compete on the national level.
The performance center will be located at The Farms Golf Club, the home of San Diego State women’s golf, and will feature indoor hitting bays, team rooms, locker rooms for both men’s and women’s teams, a hospitality station, first-class accommodations and more. An exclusive, year-round, private club dedicated exclusively to golf, The Farms Golf Club is a championship-level course’s challenging design attracts top tournaments and golf legends alike, hosting prestigious events like the Trans-Mississippi Four-Ball Championship, USGA Amateur qualifiers, SCGA championships, NCAA regionals and collegiate invitationals. The course has been named "One of the top 50 clubs in the US with the best players" by Golf Digest and proud members include champion golfers such as Xander Schauffele, Phil Mickelson, Annika Sorenstam, John Schroeder and Liselotte Neumann.
