The Aztecs remain undefeated in the WAC and recorded their third straight shutout and fifth over the last seven matches.

PHOENIX, Ariz. – The San Diego State men’s soccer team (9-4-3, 6-0-1) shutout Grand Canyon (5-8-3, 2-4-1) 1-0 on the road Sunday evening. The Aztecs remain undefeated in the WAC and recorded their third straight shutout and fifth over the last seven matches.

SDSU scored the game-winning goal in the 14th minute. Terence Okoeguale sent a ball into the box that Reid Fisher headed to Andre Puente who finished it.

"A huge gritty performance on the road," Head coach Ryan Hopkins said after the match. "We weren't at our best, but the guys literally touched every blade of gras on the field to secure the win."

The Aztecs were outshot 13-5, but just 3-2 in shots on goal.

Aztec goalkeeper Djibril Doumbia recorded his third straight shutout.

STAT OF THE GAME
All seven of SDSU’s WAC matches have been a draw or decided by one goal, yet the Aztecs are undefeated (6-0-1).

THE NOTE I
San Diego State has clinched a bye to the semifinals of the WAC Tournament.

The Aztecs have now won nine matches on the year, their most since the 2016 season.
