SAN DIEGO – San Diego State women’s tennis wrapped up its fall slate on Sunday after three days at the Aztec Tennis Center for the annual SDSU Fall Classic.
The Aztecs posted five wins on Sunday, led by Jo-Yee Chan and Ninon Martinache, who won both their doubles and singles matches.
Chan and Martinache claimed a 6-1 win over Victoria Erechtchenko and Sarah Weekley of Colorado State in their third doubles victory of the weekend. Chan then took down San Diego’s Filippa Bruu-Syversen in three sets, taking the match 6-3, 3-6, 6-2. Martinache faced off against MiaAngelina Ruja of Saint Mary’s College, winning in a tiebreaker 6-0, 3-6, [10-5].
Vesa Gjinaj and Zoe Olmos also won their singles matchups, defeating Saint Mary’s Olivia Rook 6-1, 6-2 and Stefanie Silva 6-3, 6-4, respectively.
