SAN DIEGO – San Diego State men’s tennis wrapped up day two of the Dennis Rizza Intercollegiate Classic and Triton Fall Invitational on Saturday, highlighted by a win in each tournament.
In Rolling Hills Estates, Calif., senior Liam Spiers pulled off a hard-fought 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, (10-1) win over USC’s Emmett Potter. The singles victory is his first of the fall, having only competed individually at the season opener in Tucson, Ariz. prior to this weekend’s outing.
Alexander Mandma, Mathieu Josserand and Denis Maijorov were unable to secure victories in singles or doubles at the Jack Kramer Club. After a 6-2, 6-4 win over UC Santa Barbara's Gustav Thielgaard on the opening day, Maijorov was bested 6-2, 6-0 by Maximillian Relic of Utah.

At UC San Diego’s Northview Tennis Courts, freshman Paul Janson led the second group of Aztecs with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Nevada’s Axel Huysman, claiming his fourth singles win of the season.
Philipp Bosse and Marc Kleber dropped their day two matches in La Jolla.
