COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- San Diego State and the Mountain West released the 2025 football matchups on Tuesday, including home and away designations.

The Aztecs will play home games in 2025 at Snapdragon Stadium against Boise State, Colorado State, San José State and Wyoming. SDSU will also play road contests at Fresno State, Hawai’i, Nevada and New Mexico.

Official dates, including possible moves to Thursday or Friday, and television arrangements will be announced at a later time.

The 2025 season will be San Diego State’s final football campaign in the Mountain West. The Aztecs, who were one of eight initial members of the league beginning in the 1999-00 season, accepted an invitation to join the Pac-12 Conference on Sept. 12, 2024 and officially becomes a member of the Pac-12 on July 1, 2026.

Working from the original scheduling philosophy developed by the AD scheduling subcommittee in 2022, some elements that were incorporated into the 2025 slate included that no team misses an opponent in consecutive years, historic rivalries were protected, avoided repeat matchups at the same location from 2024 to 2025, minimized the instances where teams miss opponents twice in a three-year period (2023-25), balanced travel (including time zones and altitude) as much as possible and considered non-conference weeks 1-6.

SDSU also announced that its opening game vs. Stony Brook has been moved to Thursday, Aug. 28 from its initial Saturday, Aug. 30 date. San Diego State’s other non-conference home game is Sept. 20 vs. California with road meetings set at Washington State on Sept. 6 and Northern Illinois on Sept. 27.

The Aztecs return midseason All-American and first-team all-MW EDGE Trey White, second-team all-league kicker Gabe Plascencia, and honorable mention defensive backs Eric Butler and Chris Johnson, linebacker Tano Letuli and offensive lineman Ross Ulugalu-Maseuli.

Recently, San Diego State Athletics, in partnership with the Aztec Link collective, launched the bold “Link the 619” campaign. This initiative is a direct call to action for the San Diego community to rally behind our SDSU student-athletes through impactful Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) contributions.

The “Link the 619” campaign’s goal is to recruit 1,000 members for the Aztec Link collective, with each supporter contributing an annual gift of $619 or $52 per month – an amount that symbolizes our local area code and showcases our strong community connection. Members of the Aztec Link collective will enjoy exclusive benefits that include tickets to special events, behind-the-scenes content, and limited-edition collectibles available in the upcoming offseason.

The "Link the 619" campaign emphasizes the critical importance of NIL opportunities in providing an unparalleled experience for both student-athletes and dedicated fans. By fortifying the relationship between Aztec Athletics and our community, we are committed to delivering essential resources that will elevate the student-athlete experience, attract top talent, and ensure the long-term success of our program.
