RENO, Nev. – San Diego State track and field wrapped up their first indoor meet of the season on Saturday. After a PR and program top ten time on day one of the Silver & Blue Invitational, Shaquena Foote continued a tremendous weekend with a victory in the 200m dash this afternoon.
Foote won the 200m dash with a personal best time of 23.22 seconds. It is an improvement of just over two tenths of a second improving her third-ranked mark in the program record books. She dominated heat one by more than three full seconds and beat the second-fastest runner by four tenths.
Anna Mager also PR’d in the event with a time of 24.73 and a seventh-place finish. Freshman Laraigh Allen ran a 24.91 to finish eighth in her collegiate debut.
In the field events, Jenna Fee Feyerabend had a pair of top four finishes claiming second in shot put with a throw of 13.42m (44-0.5) and fourth in high jump at 1.70m (5-7). Maya Gorman joined her in high jump with a personal best clearance of 1.60m (5-3).
The weekend ended with the 4x400m relay. Allen, Jada Pierre, Charlize James and Aji Mbye teamed up for a time 3:54.48.
San Diego State returns to action next weekend with a trip to the pacific northwest. They will compete in the UW Invite hosted by the University of Washington on Friday and Saturday.
