COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Nat Martinez was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week for the third time this season, the conference office announced Monday morning.
Martinez (San Leandro, Calif.) averaged 13.0 points and 2.0 steals per game last week while shooting an efficient 82% from the field and 89% from the line.
She scored 11 points while shooting 4-for-5 from the field in SDSU's win at Nevada Wednesday. She then scored 15 points on 5-for-6 shooting at Wyoming Saturday.
Martinez was 8-for-9 from the line across the two games and had two steals in each game.
Martinez also won the Freshman of the Week award on Nov. 25 and Dec. 2. Her three times winning the award is the most in program history (the MW Freshman of the Week award began in the 2021-22 season).
In total, SDSU has won the Freshman of the Week award five times this season with Naomi Panganiban winning the other two.
The Aztecs host Colorado State Wednesday at 6 p.m.
