SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State women’s basketball team hosts Colorado State Wednesday at 6 p.m. It’s the second time SDSU has faced the Rams in two weeks. The Aztecs lost at CSU 67-56 on Jan. 1.
Aztec Tidbits
- SDSU is coming off a 78-71 loss at Wyoming Saturday. It was their first time this season their opponent shot 50% or better from the field. It was also their first time losing a game when they had three or more players score in double-digits.
- The Aztecs are one of four Mountain West teams with a NET ranking in the top 100 (UNLV, Colorado State and Wyoming).
- SDSU is 5-3 against the teams that are top 130 in the NET rankings. SDSU has four more games remaining against teams in the top 100.
- The Aztecs are third in the nation in bench points per game (35.3). 49.4% of the Aztecs’ scoring comes from their bench.
- SDSU is second in the Mountain West in turnover margin (+5.7) and turnovers forced per game (18.7) and commit just 13.1 turnovers per game (26th in the nation).

Player Notes
- Nat Martinez won her third Mountain West Freshman of the Week award after averaging 13.0 points on 82% shooting last week. The Aztecs have won a conference best five Mountain West Freshman of the Week awards (Naomi Panganiban, 2).
- Adryana Quezada surpassed 1,500 points for her career at Wyoming Saturday.
- Quezada is one of six players nationally to have over 1,500 points & 700 rebounds while shooting at least 50% from the field and 70% from the line.
- Quezada is shooting a career-best 54.1% from the floor, the second best in the Mountain West.
- Quezada is shooting 58% from the floor in conference play while averaging 14.0 points per game.
- Cali Clark scored a career-high 18 points at Wyoming Saturday. She also had 13 rebounds.
- Clark is fourth in the nation among active players in rebounds per minute (minimum 75 games). She was second in the nation last year.
- In Clark’s 109 games at Colorado State, she had double-digits rebounds six times and one double-double. This season she has nine games with 10 or more rebounds and five double-doubles.
- Clark is one of six players in the nation with at least 30 steals and 25 blocks. She recorded her 100th career block at Nevada last Wednesday.
- Clark is top 10 in the MW in blocks (2nd), rebounds (3rd) and steals (9th).
- Veronica Sheffey is averaging 12,4 points per game on 50% shooting in conference play.
- Sheffey has scored in double-digits 10 times, tied with Quezada for the most on the team.
- Kim Villalobos is one of seven players in the nation with at least 1,100 points, 700 rebounds, 200 assists, 175 steals and 75 blocks in her career.
- Villalobos is in the top ten in SDSU history in games, rebounds and blocks.
- Villalobos has played in 137 games, the second most in program history. If she stays healthy, she will surpass Sophia Ramos for the most games played in school history (141).
- Erin Houpt is the only player in the nation to shoot at least 40% from three and 90% from the line in her career.
- Houpt is 93.0% (159-171) from the line in her career, the best in the nation (minimum 100 made free throws).
- Houpt’s 42.1% career three-point percentage is 11th in the nation among qualified players. She is 22-for-46 (47.8%) from three this season and 6-for-11 (54.5%) in conference play.
- Naomi Panganiban has won Mountain West Freshman of the Week twice.
Opponent Notebook (Colorado State)
- The Rams are 12-5 on the year and 3-1 in conference play.
