SAN DIEGO – San Diego State women’s tennis returns to the Aztec Tennis Center this weekend, welcoming Utah State and New Mexico for noon matchups on Friday and Sunday.

Entering the weekend with a 13-6 overall record and 6-1 in the Mountain West, the Aztecs are coming off a road slate where they went a perfect 4-0 over Wyoming, Colorado State, Fresno State and San Jose State. Last time out, the Scarlet and Black handed the Spartans their first conference loss of the season, earning a 4-1 victory to extend their winning streak to five matches. Leading the Aztecs was senior Yasmine Kabbaj, who went undefeated in both singles and doubles. Her standout performance was enough to garner Mountain West Player of the Week honors for the second time this season.
Utah State holds a 5-12 overall record and 0-7 in conference play, most recently falling 4-1 to Colorado State.
New Mexico is 8-12 on the season and 2-5 in the league. Last time out, the Lobos came up short 4-3 against Air Force. Their two conference wins came against Utah State and Wyoming.
Following this weekend’s action, San Diego State will prep for its final regular season match, hosting UNLV on April 17 at 1 p.m.
