AZUSA, Calif. -- San Diego State’s Presley Bennett set a collegiate personal best in the 10,000-meter run to lead the Aztec track and field team on the first day of the Bryan Clay Invitational Wednesday in Azusa, California.
Bennett, who ran her first two years at San Diego Mesa College, made her SDSU debut in the 10K this morning, running a time of 36 minutes, 54.80 seconds. The 36:54.80 easily beat her previous best time of 39:37.40, set March 31, 2023 as a freshman at SDMC. Bennett finished 45th in the open event.
Five runners will compete in the 800 on Thursday, including Sara Jones in the open 800 at 2 p.m. PT, and Lauren Harper, Sophia Wolf, Samantha Wood and Tatum Zinkin in the invitational 800 at 3:30 p.m. PT.
