On3 described Harrington as having “a smooth jump shot and consistent release…and his positional size with the ability to create and score are hard to ignore… He has a good frame with nice length and positional size. He is comfortable on the ball and able to get the ball to its spots in the half court. Listed in the 6-5 range, Harrington plays with a good pace, he rarely gets rushed. He finishes through contact at the rim and can knock down a spot three on ball reversals. Comfortable as a secondary ball handler. He has upside as an off-ball defender using positioning to cut down angles. He is a high floor type prospect.”
According to 247 Sports “Harrington’s backcourt size, floor vision, and passing ability have always been the basis of his upside. He’s a versatile two-way player, capable of playing multiple spots on the floor and making those around him better. He has terrific perimeter size…and wiry strong frame. He can utilize his size to score over smaller guards from the mid-range and in. Harrington can get downhill playing north to south in the open…and has a well-developed handle though, is a skilled lay-up maker around the rim, good passer off the dribble and potentially a nice secondary pick-and-roll threat on the second side of the floor. Defensively, the physical tools are there to be versatile on that end of the floor.”
Harrington settled on San Diego State from among: UCLA, Southern California, Arizona State and Harvard.
Harrington is the second high school senior who will be on the Aztecs’ roster next year joining Tae Simmons, who signed in November, and transfers Sean Newman Jr. and Jeremiah Oden who signed earlier this month.
