Winning their first regular season Mountain West Championship since 2013, the Aztecs enter the tournament as the top seed with a 16-6 overall record and 9-1 in conference play. On an eight-match winning streak, the Scarlet and Black clinched the outright conference title with a 4-3 win over UNLV on April 17.

After taking down ninth-seeded Colorado State 4-3 in Wednesday’s first-round matchup, Wyoming brings an 8-15 record to Thursday’s contest. Going 4-6 in the league, the Cowgirls picked up regular season victories over Fresno State, UNLV, Utah State and Colorado State.

Reigning tournament champions, San Diego State knocked off No. 10 Utah State, No. 6 Colorado State and No. 4 UNLV as the No. 2 seed in 2024 to take home its second Mountain West Tournament Championship in three years. Current junior Gloria Alogo was named the Tournament MVP, joined by seniors Yasmine Kabbaj and Zoe Olmos on the All-Tournament Team. The veteran Aztecs look to lead the team to back-to-back titles.

The winner of Thursday’s match will advance to face either fourth-seeded Boise State or fifth-seeded Fresno State at 11 a.m. on Friday.
